Health Care
Medical Campuses are evolving entities.  Due to space restrictions and available expansion areas, these locations can often be confusing at the best of times, but with the added worry of emergencies they can be downright dizzying.

PointsMap has developed several features to aid healthcare facilities in providing the best experience to their patients and visitors. One of the most important features is Internal Wayfinding using only the users smart phone.

By using the PointsMap App and simply scanning a QR code on signage throughout the hospital, users can see exactly where they are inside the building. With a couple of taps, they can "Get Directions" from where they are, pick a destination and follow a path on the map with turn by turn directions to their chosen destination. Even in a multi-floor building.

All this is done within the PointsMap App on the users phone. It does not require any external equipment to be installed in the hospital. It's a complete software solution.

CHI Memorial Hospital, a TN-based Health System, utilizes the PointsMap App's internal navigation feature to help visitors navigate the facility's eight floors. With QR codes posted throughout the facility, visitors can easily locate exactly where they are inside the building, find nearby Points of Interest and easily navigate from any point to any other point inside the hospital using their smartphone.

You can use the PointsMap App Simulator to try Internal Wayfinding.

Normally, a user would SCAN a QR Code sign like the one here to show them exactly
where they are in the building and to begin wayfinding.

Because we are using the Simulator, we will manually pick a point from the map to begin wayfinding.

Follow these steps using the simulator:

1  Click "Use other features of the app..."
2  Click the menu button in the top left corner
3  A
bout halfway down, click on "Inside Maps"
4  Tap the Map Icon for the Second floor
5  Select any colored icon shown on the map
6  On the popup menu, under "Get Directions", select "From"
7  Select any destination point under "Choose a destination point below"
8  Start your navigation by clicking the GREEN arrow
9  That's it!

You can zoom in and out of the map to see the segments highlighted one step at a time as you click through the directions. You can also click on any of the ICONS for points you are passing to see the name of that point.

Click the X next to the STOP button to exit wayfinding.

The Category Slider Selector will appear at the bottom of the screen and you can click on a category and see the icons just for that category appear on the map.

You can begin wayfinding from ANY POINT on ANY FLOOR and navigate to ANY OTHER POINT on ANY FLOOR inside the facility.

Explore the App and see evertything you can do. PointsMap puts
